Nestled in the misty forests of Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda is one of only three countries in the world where you can see these endangered primates up close. With the guidance of expert trackers, you’ll trek through lush, mountainous terrain to spend an unforgettable hour observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat.

What to Expect
Your day begins early with a transfer to the park headquarters in Musanze, where you’ll meet your ranger guide and receive a briefing. After being assigned to a gorilla group based on your fitness level and preference, you’ll begin the trek through bamboo forests and thick undergrowth.
Trek times vary from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the group’s location. But the reward is immense. The moment you spot a silverback or watch a baby gorilla playing under its mother’s gaze, you’ll know it was worth every step.
Gorillas are peaceful, intelligent, and surprisingly expressive. You’ll have a full hour in their presence to observe, take photos, and absorb the magic of this wild connection, all at a safe and respectful distance.
